The Sky is Falling Department

This is rather amusing. Really, if you read it, you can see where some of the hysteria comes from.

The line:

"Television in particular has an affinity for action, suspense, drama, and
danger, and 'big weather' delivers on all counts," said Carol Wilder, chair of
the Media Studies Department at The New School in New York.

Explains quite a lot about a lot more than just the weather.........

I read a comment on another blog relating that media is not really about news as much as it is about drama. I think there is something to that analysis.
